About Orai Tau
Orai Tau is a free web app providing detailed weather information for every location in Lithuania.
Our Mission
To deliver precise and up-to-date meteorological data in an accessible way, with special attention to the needs of coastal visitors, sailors, farmers and residents of Lithuania.
Main Features
- Detailed 7-day forecast with maximum and minimum temperatures
- Hourly forecast for up to 85 hours with temperature and sky condition
- Extended mode for special places: freezing level, snow depth, wind at altitude and cloud layers
- Official LHMT weather warnings with risk levels (yellow, orange, red)
- Information cards: temperature, wind, humidity, pressure, UV, air quality, precipitation and more
- Real-time precipitation radar on an interactive map
- Real-time pollen data: alder, birch, grasses, ragweed and more, with concentration levels
- Multilingual interface (Lithuanian, English, Russian, Polish, Latvian, Estonian)
- Customizable dashboard by dragging and reordering cards
- Place search based on the official LHMT place list
- No personal data collected, preferences stored locally
Data Sources
We use official and open-source data:
- LHMT (Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service, meteo.lt) – official forecasts, warnings and station observations (CC BY-SA 4.0)
- Open-Meteo – complementary data (UV, air quality, pollen, Baltic waves) and the 7-day forecast
- RainViewer – real-time precipitation radar
- OpenStreetMap – maps and geocoding
- Meteocons – animated weather icons by Bas Milius (MIT)

- Open-Meteo data (UV index, air quality and pollen): every 15 minutes
- RainViewer precipitation radar: in real time
- OpenStreetMap geocoding: every hour
